The star of the sea, or in the original Ster Der Zee, is the name of the beach located in the famous Belgian tourist resort Koksijde. You may already know that Belgians love art, but if you don't, you will definitely find it when you visit one of their beaches. There is a monument on almost every beach, and on this one they thought of a star-shaped lookout tower that extends at least 10 meters high and which you can climb as well. The beach is family friendly and of course sandy, as are all the Belgian beaches along the North Sea. Access to the beach is possible with any vehicle that can be left at designated parking spots along the road, only 30 meters away from the beach. There is really a lot of parking here, which indicates that this is a very popular place. Here, too, the beach is several kilometers long and has a minimum width of 100 meters, which in the case of low tide increases to just over a few 100 meters wide. The beach has a fairly constant slope, which descends slightly. Access to the water is comfortable and the swimming point is at approx. 40 meters. The beach infrastructure here is enough to meet your basic needs. You also have different types of restaurants and beach bars nearby. Accommodation at this location is not a problem either, you have many different types of accommodation available. Within 1 kilometer of the beach, there are also some campsites, if you prefer this type of accommodation.
