Since I was a little boy, I always enjoyed being on the beach. I loved all the beach activities; building castles, swimming, fishing and diving for beautiful shells. I think that my love for beach comes from my parents, who were also beach enthusiasts. It was normal for us that we went on the seaside and enjoy the sun. And I enjoyed every minute of it. I simply loved the sea!

As I was getting older, I was starting to explore some other options for spending my free time over the summer, but I tell you, nothing could compare to the beach. And that was how it happened. I think it was about 7 years ago. I'm an adventurer by nature and so I decided to spend my summer holidays on a beach I didn't really know. "So why would you like to visit it," you may ask. Well, my friend told me about that place where the sparkling water meets the gorgeous white sand, apparently it looks like paradise. Those were his words. It was Sardinia, the Italian island in the Mediterranean.

I have to tell you, this isn't a small island. It's huge! You know Slovenia, right? Well, those two are similar size. So we are comparing an island to a country. Now you get it? The length of the island is 1,149 miles. For an adventurer like me it offers a lot of space for exploring. So before I went there, I wanted to be prepared and I hit the internet. But you know what? I was really disappointed. Not only did it take me 15 different websites at the same time, I also used multiple programs such as Google earth, to navigate on the map. Now, when I look back, I think I spent over 6 hours of time searching for those beautiful Mediterranean beaches, which I ultimately fell in love with. I made a really thorough investigation of those websites and I still didn't have all the information I needed. So I thought: "Greg, can you imagine searching info about beaches, and dying next to the computer every year for the rest of your life? Do you really want that?" In that exact moment a marvellous idea crossed my mind. What if there was a website with all the beaches on our planet? All those wonders, altogether in just one place, filled with all the information, so you could easily decide where to go, and what to expect there.

And just like that, in a blink of an eye, the BeachRex project was born.
