The Dutch harbour city Urk, located in the region Flevoland, has two beautiful sandy beaches to offer. The first one, which is a family beach is called Dijkstrand. It is very easy to reach with any kind of vehicle and you have a large parking place only 100m away from the beach. To access the beach you need to walk over a small water barrier of 5 m height. The total length of the beach is 150m, it is 30 m wide and has a normal inclination. The water entry is very nice here and the swimming point is already at 5 m. A basic beach infrastructure is located here, but you also have a children playground and a small sports field. On the beach itself you don't have any restaurants, but they are located in the surrounding area, where you will also find lots of accommodation if you would like to stay here for longer.
